Apparently many poker pros decided to show up to the  2^nd Annual Jennifer Harman SPCA Charity Poker Tournament in Las Vegas because of the threat of bodily harm. From Jennifer Harman.

Both Phil Ivey and Barry Greenstein alluded to the not-so-thinly veiled threats by Harman as their primary reason for attending the event. However, the prospects of bodily harm turned out to be a good thing for Ivey, as he adopted a sweet little kitty!!!*

Audrina Patridge Is Wearing Too Many Clothes

RawVegas.tv stopped by Evelyn Ng's condo in Las Vegas the other day to shoot her and Lacey Jones rocking it out Guitar Hero III, except replace "Lacey Jones" with Jeff Madsen and that's what you'll see in the video below. You'll also see Jeff Madsen, who looks like a prairie dog to us, pulling a Miss Teen South Carolina (jokingly) when he rambles off continents like Asia, Africa and Europe and calls them cities. Throughout the video, Madsen is for some reason smoking a cigarette in what can best be described as an awkward manner. Seriously, we know 7 year olds who look cooler smoking cigarettes. Sure we have to buy and light the cancer sticks for the rugrats but once they get puffing, they look cool. Because smoking is cool. Unless you're Jeff Madsen.

As reported all over the place the past couple weeks (we'll cite this one here), Daniel Negreanu will be playing poker against Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine, in the upcoming movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Now comic books are for dorks who don't get laid but we hear the X-Men series and Wolverine are pretty cool. While Daniel can't officially comment on his appearance, he'll be in the flick.

Expected on the red carpet are many of the big name celebs playing in this year's event, including Jason Alexander, Don Cheadle, and last year's top 4 finisher, Dancing with the Stars' Shannon Elizabeth.

So we made it to the Commerce today after a night of relatively moderate bedlam that kicked off at the Library Alehouse in Santa Monica and somehow ended up with us at a Laurel Canyon mansion this morning with a group of Venice Beach trust fund hippies who graffiti'd are SUV rental with Obama stickers.

We'll save that story however for our forthcoming 4-part series entitled "How We Spent the Friday Night Before the WPT LA Poker Classic."

David Williams Not Doing Well on Day 2's

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi Considering New Career in MMA Fighting

For this week's Toke with Wicked Chops Poker on RawVegas.tv, Dave Farra catches up with Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and David Williams at the first-ever Bodog Fights held in Las Vegas, which saw Nick "The Goat" Thompson submit John Troyer for the win and two chicks beating the crap out of each other.

Williams talks about placing bets on MMA fights, including a $10,000 wager he won off Patrick Antonius at the UFC fight between Georges St. Pierre and Matt Hughes. The Grinder meanwhile gets all profound about the differences between MMA and poker when he says, "In poker it's mental training, here it is physical training. So it's a lot different."

We're gonna ask him to dumb this down for us the next time we see him but we'll take his word for it.

Oh yeh, about the headline above. Not really true. But it got your attention right?

Breaking: Monte Carlo in Las Vegas Is On Fire

From RawVegas.tv:

The roof, the roof, the roof at the Monte Carlo is on fire. Or at least the top four floors.

A massive blaze is burning at the Monte Carlo casino right now. We have a clear view from the RawVegas.tv office, where we see black fumes engulfing the Vegas skyline.

Speculation among a few placed calls is the fire resulted from a construction accident. We are waiting for confirmation on that.

The Monte Carlo is now evacuating the 3,000+ room hotel and casino.

UPDATE: They are now evacuating the Bellagio and other casinos on the Strip.

UPDATE: RawVegas.tv is reporting that the fire appears to be under control now. "No more plumes of smoke can be seen from our office or by the bridge where we are filming." They also have a video of the Monte Carlo fire, which from the angle and distance it was shot, kind of looks cozy.

David Williams A Fan of Borgata...Not So Much of Tunica Though

Gotta hand it to David Williams. Dude calls it like he sees it.

In his latest vlog on RawVegas.tv, David Williams goes over his early poker schedule (yah on Borgata, Tunica, nay on the Aussie Millions). While admitting that the one shining gem in the shithole that is Atlantic City--The Borgata--is "one of my favorite places on the east coast," DW isn't so fond of Tunica, which he calls, "a boring place in the middle of nowhere." True. True.

DW also goes on about another favorite spot, Commerce Casino, and a session where he banked about $90k in 40 hours. Watch the full clip below.

Poker Pro David Williams Spent More Money than You on New Year's Eve

Poker pro David Williams is back doing his video blogs on RawVegas.tv, and for the first one of 2008 he talks about how he spent New Year's Eve in Las Vegas, including partying alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and the Hilton sisters and spending a shit-ton of money with Joe Cassidy, David Oppenheim, Matt "Hazards21" Giannetti and Jean-Robert Bellande, that kind of obnoxious poker player with the French sounding name who was on "Survivor: China."

The WSOP bracelet winner also talks about his New Year's resolution and the correlation between something called "working out" and playing good poker, something that may help explain the year David Benyamine had in 2007.
