WSOP Tournament Updates
Some quick WSOP hits:
:: Cyndy Violette Does Not Win $5,000 7CS Event. While we are admittedly a little surprised that Viollette failed to capture bracelet #2, we are not surprised that Mike Caro did not capture #1. Listen, we're sure Caro is a great cash player and all, but this was his best WSOP finish EVER and he's been playing poker since the Truman administration. Sure, this final table is 100% more WSOP final tables than the entities that comprise Wicked Chops Enterprises LLC have made, but regardless, if he's the Mad Genius of Poker than we're Certifiably Insane (not to mention Certifiably H-O-T...ggggrrrrrrrrraaaarrrrre). Oh yeah, Ben Lin won the event, banking $256,620.
:: It would be a bitch to have a lisp in Sweden. Mats Rahmn, who if he were American instead of Swedish would be known as "Matt Rahmn," continued the impressive run of Swedish "Mats" who have won major events this year by beating 2,126 runners to capture the $1,500 NLH event. Mats brings home $655,141 for the win. Notably, Chris "MarvinGarden" Birchby, a Team Bodog poker pro who's been a dominating force online the past several years, finished 4th, winning $145,100.
:: Apparently, "Hachem" is not a synonym for "Moneymaker" in Australia. Last year's WSOP ME champ Joe Hachem makes another 2006 WSOP final table, this time in the $2,500 PLO event.
