Because apparently scandalous things do the poker game good.
In May, David Williams won a WSOPC H.O.R.S.E. event. This weekend, Williams claimed his first-ever bracelet by winning the $1,500 7-Card Stud event.
Williams, who finished second in the WSOP ME in 2004, vaulted himself into elite young gun status with the win. He's also given Chops' WSOP Fantasy League team a significant shot in the arm. Nice work, DW.
It was a good weekend in general for Team Bodog. Along with Williams' win, Bodog founder Calvin Ayre had the light shined on him in a Nightline feature by Martin Brashir. Showcasing Bodog's appeal--built largely around the "Ayre lifestyle" (at left)--the piece demonstrated how Ayre's brand building efforts are truly paying off, as Bodog banked over $7.3 billion last year.
With Williams' win and Ayre's airing, you really can't beat Bodog this weekend.
