Phil Hellmuth Can Relax Now
He did it.
It has been the best ongoing story of the 2006 WSOP: Phil Hellmuth's pursuit of that ever-elusive 10th bracelet.
Finally, after a crushing defeat heads-up in Event # 9, and another final table appearance in Event # 24, Phil Hellmuth pulled through, dominating final table play in the $1,000 + rebuys NLH tourney. He now joins Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan as the only men in the entire universe with 10 WSOP bracelets.
Hellmuth defeated Juha Helppi for the title and banks $631,863 for the win. The win increases Hellmuth's overall 2006 WSOP earnings to over 1.1M. This is also Hellmuth's sixth cashing in the 2006 WSOP.
His work is done here, folks. His work is done.
