There Is No Quit in Phil Hellmuth
Only one thing stands in Phil Hellmuth's way from winning his record-tying 10th bracelet: 8 other players.
Yes that one thing, those 8 players, can either contribute to Hellmuth's heartache at the 2006 WSOP, or they can just let Phil win this damn 10th bracelet for shit's sake. Seriously. Come on guys. HE WANTS THIS MORE THAN YOU DO.
Going into final table play, Hellmuth will be stacked at 768,000. In second is Daryn Firicano with 450,000. Others remaining include: Juha Helppi (436,000), Rafael Perry (235,000), John Spadavecchia (122,000), David Plastik (121,000), and Tony G (77,000).
In other WSOP news...
:: Jason Lester won the $5,000 PLH event, banking $550,746 and his first bracelet.
:: Jeff "Mad Dog" Madsen is making yet another bracelet run, this time in Seven Card Stud 8/0B.
Despite his personality quirks, I gotta pull for the guy.
Good luck Phil!!!
