:: Farha fetches second bracelet by besting Ivey. Continuing the dominance of "name pros" at the WSOP this year, 2003 Main Event runner-up Sam Farha denied Phil Ivey his sixth bracelet by capturing the $5,000 Omaha High-Low 8/OB title.

:: Bob "Big Red" Chalmers wins Event #11. Putting an end to the dominance of "name pros" at the WSOP this year, Bob "Big Red" Chalmers, who amazingly earned that nickname because he has red hair, which possibly means he was a step-child at some stage in his life, likely during childhood, won Event #11 ($1,500 NLH) banking $258,344. This is Chalmers' first cashing in a major tournament.

:: Reategui running over competition. 2005 bracelet winner Anthony Reategui, who Peter Alson nicknamed "Leatherhead" in his upcoming book Take Me to the River, is bulldozing yet another tournament, taking a massive chip lead into the Event #13 ($2,500 NLH) final table.
