Sandman Stands at 163k at End of Second Day
4SPT-er Vaughn "Project Dirtbag" Sandman is playing some of the best poker of his life right now and bagged an impressive 163,000 in chips at the end of Day 2B. The average stack is just over 70k, so Vaughn will be in excellent shape heading into Day 3 when the two fields finally come together for the first time. If you read Sandman's blog, you can see things pretty much worked out as planned, as "Bob" Voulgaris bowed out early and Sandman took down Kanter right after the dinner break.
Action begins back up this Friday, and we should have a full report of where things stand later today.
For an incomplete and not-so-accurate chip count of today's field, visit CardPlayer.com. Of note Daniel Negreanu, who earlier today found out where Wicked Chops Poker got its name, finished above 300k, and last year's champ, Joe Hachem, closed out in the 140k range. A few big names who busted out after our last report are Peter Costa, Robert Williamson III and Russ Salzer. Also out is Charlie Sewell, who we introduced you to the other day, and chip leader going into today, Hung Tran.
