Sorry Kajagugu but had Shannon won, from a credibility stand-point, poker would've taken a huge hit. Perception is reality. The mass public would've seen a perceived none-to-bright model/actress winning one of the most high profile poker events (even though the pros don't necessarily see it that way, again, perception is reality), and you'd hear a lot more talk from the national media of poker being a game of "luck" that anyone can win instead of being the skill game that it is.
Having said this, Shannon Elizabeth earned her way to the final 4 with some serious solid play. She was no joke. She definitely earned it. And she was just a river card away from the finals. Hats off to her for sure.

It's pretty obvious that Shannon is taking it down. She gets no respect from the other players and manages to outplay and outluck them on the key hands.
And I am not sure how "bad" it will be for poker. If by "bad" you mean that these pompous media hungry idiots (ex: Brenes, Negraneau, etc.) will have to live with the fact the Nadia took down a prestigious event, then I guess that would be real bad. Boo-fucking-hoo.
I'm really sorry, but if you start a heads up match with 100 BB and you can't beat Shannon, maybe she knows what she's doing?
