Amarillo Slim Playing $5-10 Hold'em at Bellagio Friday Night

Amarillo-slim Well, he must not have been beaten up too bad.

We received text messages from WCP readers last night that poker legend Amarillo Slim was playing the $5-10 hold'em game at the Bellagio in Las Vegas last night.

This, just days after getting mangled and mugged.

Slim had a finger in a splint, but otherwise seemed OK. Apparently some railbirds were snapping photos of him and Bellagio security kindly escorted them away.

If any of you photo takers are reading this, please send said photos to [email protected], or start a new thread and post them here.

We never thought longtime WCP fave Joanna Krupa, aka the hottest girl to have ever played the WSOP, could getting any hotter. Thankfully she figured out a way, and that's posing with her equally hot sister Marta Krupa for RALPH magazine. Click away below and enjoy.

Allen Iverson Is a Fish

Allen Iverson, or as the Aussies like to call him, "James Blake," reportedly took in some poker at the Canterbury Card Club, a race track/card room outside of Minneapolis.

Says freep.com:

"The Minneapolis Star Tribune's gossip column is reporting that Allen Iverson, Rasheed Wallace "and about six other members of the entourage" were spotted at Shakopee's Canterbury Card Club there at about 11:30 Tuesday, the night before their game against the Timberwolves."

While there, Iverson, who looked to have about $50,000 in cash on him, was "getting beat up pretty bad" at three-card poker. The entourage started getting rowdy, the locals complained, the entourage settled down and eventually cleared out sans further incident.

Australia's Channel 9 News Thinks They All Look The Same

Phil_ivey_james_blake James_blake_phil_ivey

So we're a little late on this one, but apparently the Aussie's must not see very many darkly skinned people other than the Aborigenese.

How else can this be explained? (as reported by the Daily Telegraph)

"Scouring the Channel 9 affiliated Crown Casino for tennis talent for a story about players staying in the hotel, producers claimed to have collared an interview with American Davis Cup hero James Blake.

Only problem was it was another US sports star, poker champ Phil Ivey, also in town for a major tournament."

Hey look, it's a black guy! Must be James Blake! Or possibly Wesley Snipes!

Seriously do Ivey and Blake even remotely look the same? We look more like James Blake than Phil Ivey.

In somewhat related news, Phil Ivey has a milli riding on the Super Bowl. Listen here.

Gus Hansen vs. Theo Jorgensen Boxing Match Set For Feb. 21

We were IMing with our Danish friend Jonas Hüttel of Ekstra Bladet last night and he shared this video he did of Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen training for his upcoming boxing bout with fellow Dane Gus Hansen. The two will duke it out in Copenhagen on February 21 in front of a live audience. The wager: Theo gets $35,000 if he wins, Gus takes $25k for a victory. Word is the fight will be filmed by Hansen's new web tv site that is set to launch the day of the fight.

While Gus is considered the favorite--he's younger, in better shape, stays active--we hear he has yet to do much training in the ring. Theo on the other hand has reportedly been training for the past year and has hired a professional boxing coach named Poul Duville. From the video, he looks like he needs the help.

For another video of Theo in the ring, click here. We have know idea what Jonas and him are talking about. We're not even sure if they're speaking Danish. Sounds like aliens talking to us.

In other poker boxing news, occasional female poker player Jose Canseco is fighting perennial loser/celebrity boxer Danny Bonaduce this Saturday in Aston, Penn. (where?). While we have about as much interest in this fight as trying to come up with something right now to show how little interest we have in this fight, it should at least be better than the Bonaduce vs. Barry Williams bout.

UPDATE: Ok, when we said the Canseco/Bonaduce fight was Saturday we meant last Saturday, or at least we do now. Time flies when doing meth. Thanks to reader scott diamond for commenting and caring. According to First Cuts, the fight ended in a draw.

Bill Edler Among Chips Leaders at Borgata Winter Poker Open

After Grant "U2KILLERS" Coombs' elimination from the Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event (read about it here), the air kind of went out of our Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event tourney reporting balloon.

So we'll make this quick: Carl Pion is chip leader, stacked at 4,720,000. He's followed by Bill Edler with 3,894,000.

In all, 27 remain, and they'll play down to the final table today. Follow the action here.

Captain Tom Franklin POBs The World Poker Association

Watch your back, WPA.

In a story that exists on our site for no other reason than to type the above headline, Captain Tom Franklin was elected Chairman of the Board for the World Poker Association, leaving him free to POB poker players anywhere, anytime.

Actually we don't think that's true, but we also have no idea what the responsibilities of this role are. And by "don't know" we mean "don't care." Probably on par with your average high school student council President.

Grant "U2KILLERS" Coombs Still Alive at Borgata Winter Poker Open

Like Tomer Benvenisti (what happened to that guy) at an all you can eat buffet, it was utter carnage during Day 2 of the Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event

Despite the deep stacks, the field dropped from 719 to 172. However, they are still 100 away from the money bubble.

Still alive is WCP Reader Appreciation winner, Grant "U2KILLERS" Coombs. Although he hasn't see TT, JJ, QQ, KK, or AA in two days of play, he's still sitting with 28 big blinds at 233,000. Read his Day 2 recap here

Some big stacks include Frankie Flowers (847,500) and David "Bakes" Baker (798,000). Bill Edler is also still alive but we don't have his chip count. We blame that on the Russians.

Get a full tourney recap here.

UPDATE: The money bubble burst and Grant "U2KILLERS" Coombs has officially cashed, turning his WCP freeroll win into a minimum $4,882 payout. With 100 remaining, Coombs is stacked around 500,000.

UPDATE II: Coombs just got knocked out after the money bubble burst. He got all in preflop with KK vs. TT, and a ten hit on the flop. Brutal. Live poker is rigged.

Still an impressive showing, doing WCP proud.

Chip Reese's House Is For Sale

For just a cool $5,699,500, Chip Reese's Summerlin Las Vegas home could be yours.

Ok, the house has been on the market for about a year. But it's a sweet f'in pad. Five bed. Seven bath. Or as we like to say, seven toilets to bring our laptop into to write posts for the site every morning.

So how'd he swing the lofty price tag for the home? Aside from being widely regarded as the best all-around poker player of all-time, Reese killed it on baseball betting before he died. Oddsmakers actually adjusted lines based on what Reese and Doyle Brunson bet. Additionally, Reese flipped a low five-figure investment in Jack Binion's Tunica casino into a low eight figure payout.

Doyles Room Moves To Cake, Now Open To (Most) US American Players

6a00d834515b6669e2010536bb743e970c-500wi DoylesRoom.com, the online poker room of famed poker blogger and pro beer ponger Doyle Brunson, is now accepting players from U.S. America (except those commie states that have laws against it) after moving to the Cake Poker Network. The site took U.S. American players when it first launched in 2004 but had restricted them after its previous networks banned them because of fear of operating in U.S. America after the passing of the UIGEA.

Said the not-dead-yet Doyle about the move to Cake:

“We wanted to offer our players a rewarding place to play. The liquidity and integrity associated with the Cake Poker Network made this an easy choice for our new partnership.”

Okay not sure what he just said there but hey look, Danielle Lloyd is naked again.

Doyle Brunson Not Planning to Kick Bucket in 2009

Good thing the cart master in Monty Python and the Holy Grail wasn't walking by when Doyle  was napping.

A few weeks ago poker blogger Doyle Brunson made news for making CinemaBlend.com's 2009 100 Most Likely People to Die List. The expected cause of death was listed as obesity and the website put the chances of Doyle kicking the bucket by year's end at 10%.

Well Doyle, who is so old that when he reads about the Civil War he reminisces, has
called out Mack Rawden of Cinema Blend and issued a wager.

Said Doyle:

Some clown who produces the, “Blend Celebrity Bucket List”, put the 100 most likely celebs to die in 2009.  Guess who he had at #16?  That’s right, me.  To start with, I don’t consider myself a celebrity, so I don’t qualify.  But, if I did, I sure don’t have any plans for kicking the bucket anytime soon and surely not in 2009.  He should check on my family genes, both sides lived up into their 90’s.  He should talk to my doctor and get my blood pressure results, my 140 reading on my cholesterol and the raves my cardiologist gives me on my EKG’s.  He said obesity would cause my death.  He should have seen me 5 years ago when I was 130 lbs heavier.  Anyway, he said it was a 10% chance I would die.  I would like to lay 10-1 for any amount if anybody knows this joker.

Word is Rawden got a hold of Brunson and took him up on the offer, wagering $1,000 to Doyle's $10k. Proceeds are said to be going to the American Cancer Society, so if Doyle does die this year in say some mysterious mobility scooter accident, we know who we'll be suspicious of.

In related news, the Bring Out Your Dead scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail after the jump....

This is interesting in that we heard rumors WSOP officials were going to shorten the time by up to two months for the November NineTM, but apparently they're going to give the four-month hostage holding the old college try one more time.

Not Necessarily Just Poker News Brought to You By Arianny Celeste

Fan IQ recently selected Arianny Celeste as the hottest girl in MMA, and that was before these photos leaked. Talk about adding the proverbial exclamation point. Anyway, below is some poker news to catch up on from over the weekend.

:: Lots of good stuff from the Hard Core Poker show recently, starting with this Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond interview where he basically calls out Gus Hansen's online game... [link]

:: ...And continuing with this Annie Duke one, where she pretty much admits she pwned Celebrity Apprentice. [link]

:: However, Gus Hansen is SLAYING high stakes games on Full Tilt this year. Take that, Aiken! [link]

:: Well if Gus isn't bleeding money anymore, than maybe the high stakes Tilt games will really dry up since Guy Laliberté (already the biggest loser on Tilt last year) could be out another $50 mil. [link]

:: Catch up on the Aussie Millions Million Dollar Cash Game. [link]

:: We've felt out of MTV's "target demo" for about a decade now, but we'll be watching this show. [link]

:: Speaking of hot barely clad MMA chicks, meet Ali Sonoma. [link]

:: Dr. Pauly is chasing the dragon. [link]

:: Our new President and his wife have some fun in the bedroom. Damn. [link]

:: And sort of speaking of the 2008 election, could one of these girls be the next Sarah Palin? [link]

The Wicked Chops Poker Forum Is Back (Brought to You By Francine Dee)

So a few months back we had to take down the Wicked Chops Poker Forum due to ridiculous on-going technical difficulties. We blame it on the so-called "Internet" and its new fangled and so difficult to understand technologies. We also blame it on some general laziness on our end in trying to figure it out. While we have almost a preternatural sixth sense in finding the next hot babe model on the Internet and owning SEO on her, solving .php issues, not so much. Anyway, start posting away again here.

And speaking of hot models, we bring you the RawVegas.tv Girl of the Month, Francine Dee. Best known as an automotive magazine and show girl, Dee has also made appearances in the movie Soul Plane (phw, who hasn't?) and on an episode of Blind Date. And since she's a hot Asian and in Vegas a lot, you'll probably see her around the poker scene eventually when Negreanu or Greenstein inevitably date her.

Davidson Matthew Club Member Stewart Scott Wins 2009 Aussie Millions

Aussie-millions We're not going to sit here and pretend that the 2009 Aussie Millions final table really intrigued us. Or anywhere near as much as Annette Melton intrigued us, at least.

But that doesn't diminish newly minted Davidson Matthew Club member Stewart Scott's achievement. Scott outlasted a field of 681 to win the 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event title, banking $2,000,000 AUD, ooor just about as much as the entire net worth of the Aboriginal people (aka "Indigenous Australians") on the contintent.

Rajkumar Ramakrishnan finished fourth for $400,000 AUD.

Hey Poker News, More Annette Melton Please (2009 Aussie Millions Final Table Update)

Annette_Melton_1 After all sorts of interesting storyline possibilities evaporated with the eliminations of Annette Obrestad, a woman, Annica Ivert, a woman, and Kelly Kim, whose name if reversed sounds like a super hot woman, at the 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event, all we're really left with is this: Is Rajkumar Ramakrishnan the same Rajkumar Ramakrishnan that this website was created for back in 2001? And will whoever made that site come after the guy (if it is him)? Can somebody at Poker News get on that already? Cause really, unlike previous years, that's all we got.

Davidson Matthew Club member Stewart Scott takes the chip lead to the final table, stacked at 4,520,000. He's trailed by U.S. American Peter Rho with 2,420,000. The aforementioned Rajkumar Ramakrishnan is third with 2,050,000. In fourth is US American Zach Gruneberg (1,355,500), who is coming off a prelim Aussie Millions win, followed by Aussie Sam Capra (1,116,100). In sixth is Elliot Smith (1,120,000), no, not that Elliot Smith, and rounding out the bottom of the final table are two Brits, FTP pro Richard Ashby (658,000) and Hendon Mob-ster Barny Boatman (349,000), who seems as if he's been short-stacked the entire tournament.

Get full chip counts here.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, for crying out loud PokerNews.com give us some more Annette Melton (at right). Please! We swear we'll try harder to get past the annoying preroll you run before every video even though we have the attention span of a two-year-old hooked on the Obama. If you don't know, Melton is a smokingly gorgeous Australian model with the kind of looks that give reason to why we call them our current/first wives. She has been doing scant video reporting for PokerNews.com during the Aussie Millions and some in the past, but like we said, it's been scant. And anything scant with a hot girl, besides clothing, sucks.

Check out some of Annette's modeling photos below. And one of her few-and-far-between PokerNews.com videos after the jump.

Amarillo Slim Gets Beat Up, Robbed

Amarilloslimbig Giving a new meaning to the term "bad beat," poker legend Amarillo Slim was roughed up and robbed on Tuesday in...Amarillo...while trying to collect collateral on a $3,000 gambling debt.

According to the Houston Chronicle:

Amarillo Police Lt. Jim McKenny said the 80-year-old former world champion poker player, whose real name is Thomas Preston, was beaten after being lured to a field Tuesday night expecting to retrieve a four-wheeler as collateral. Preston went to the hospital with a broken jaw, hand and thumb, he told the Amarillo Globe-News.

He said he was robbed of $8,000 cash and a diamond ring worth $85,000, McKenny said.

"That would not be that unusual for him to have that kind of money," he said.

It wasn't the first time he's been robbed either, McKenny said.

UIGEA Enactment On Hold

Looks like the actual enforcement of the UIGEA will be put on hold for a little while longer.

While President Bush's last minute executive order pushing the UIGEA was met with a general shrug by the online poker operators still accepting U.S. American players, President Obama has put a halt to all pending W regulations.

Says Reuters:

President Barack Obama's new administration ordered all federal agencies and departments on Tuesday to stop any pending regulations until they can be reviewed by incoming staff, halting last-minute Bush orders in their tracks.

"This afternoon, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel signed a memorandum sent to all agencies and departments to stop all pending regulations until a legal and policy review can be conducted by the Obama administration," the White House said in a statement issued just hours after Obama took office.

The review is a tool commonly used by a new administration to delay so-called "midnight regulations" put in place by a former president between the election and Inauguration Day.

Is This Guy Among the Chipleaders At The 2009 Aussie Millions?

Rajkumar Ramakrishnan
We're about as good at telling Indian dudes apart as we are at pronouncing their names, although not quite as bad as Brian Williams is at identifying black guys.

But could it be that the guy fourth overall in chips at the 2009 Aussie Millions, Rajkumar Ramakrishnan, is the same Rajkumar Ramakrishnan that pissed the crap out of someone back in 2001, which led to this website (screen grab above)?

Here's a pic of the Aussie Millions Rajkumar. Could be. Then again, what do we look like, forensic scientists? What do we know.

With 28 remaining, Michael Tureniec is chip leader, stacked at 1,072,000. Also still alive are Christopher Chronis (862,000), Annette Obrestad, a woman (807,000), Annica Ivert, a woman (709,000), 130 year-old 2008 Aussie Million final table-ist Antonio Casale (566,000), Kelly Kim (380,000), Sorel Mizzi (293,000), Joe Cassidy (197,000), and Barney Boatman (153,00).

BREAKING: Poker Stars Pulling Its Sponsored Players From Poker After Dark

Pad23d Poker Stars is no longer allowing its players to participate on Poker After Dark.

We received an email to the site today detailing how earlier this week Stars told its sponsored players that they will not be able to play on the popular late night show. The reason: the way Full Tilt Poker, who underwrites the production of Po ker After Dark, markets the show internationally.

While U.S. American broadcasts aren't overtly distinguishable as a Full Tilt production, foreign markets receive a more branded version of the program.

An initial request for a quote from Poker Stars was not returned in time for this post, however we will keep you posted if they do.

Hopefully this doesn't begin a Biggie/Tupac, East Coast/West Coast style fued between the two online poker giants, who have more or less co-existed comfortably for years. Last thing we want is Stars getting capped on the Vegas strip followed by Tilt pumped with a lead salad in LA. Nobody wins in that scenario, guys.

Annica Ivert, A Sheila, Leads 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event

Let's just say that Aussie Millions chip leader Annica Ivert looks nothing like Aussie model Imogen Bailey...

Although we are still very Back of Bourke from the final table, after two days of play, only 86 battlers (and a few top pros) remain from the starting field of 681 at the 2009 Aussie Millions.

Leading them all is Annica Ivert, a sheila, stacked at 555,900. While Ivert doesn't have any tournament cashes to speak of, that doesn't necessarily mean she's a no-hoper either. However, she's not someone the Entities would care to have a naughty with either. Crikey!

Right behind Ivert is another sheila, Annette Obrestad, a sheila, with 454,800.

Others remaining are the corker Patrik Antonius (335,900), Christopher Chronis (241,000), Clonie Gowen, a sheila (214,500), Sorel Mizzi (190,000), Kelly Kim (155,000), the still alive Raymond Rahme (140,000), Barny Boatman (105,000), Michael McDonald (93,000), Scotty Nguyen (54,000), and "Salty" Joe Hachem (45,000).

Kentucky Can't Seize Internet Gaming Site Domains

People everywhere in Kentucky were celebrating today's joyous news.

In what will hopefully be the last time we have to write about this asinine story, a judge in Kentucky today ruled that the state cannout seize web, or as we like to call it, "Information SuperhighwayTM" domains associated with Internet gaming, including poker.

An attorney representing the Interactive Gaming Council said:

“The Court of Appeals has now corrected a fundamental misunderstanding by the trial judge in this proceeding of the nature of the Internet and the legality of online poker in Kentucky.”

And while we have no idea what the fuck that meant, we do know the larger ramifications of this development is that you can still play in our Reader Appreciation Freeroll Thursday.

  • If you win, you HAVE TO PLAY IN THE MAIN EVENT. There are two Day 1's to choose from, this Sunday (1/25) and Monday (1/26).
  • If an Entity wins, we'll likely give it to whoever finishes second, unless that person is an Entity, in which case it goes down to third, unless that person is an Entity, in which case it would go to fourth place.
  • If your name is Kid Dynamite, you have to play. No exceptions.
  • You're on your own for airfare. Cash in some sky miles or get a buddy pass from someone.
  • We'll of course track and post your action continuously during the tournament.

And that's it. We know this is uber-late-notice but think of it this way: it'll increase the likelihood of you winning. Plus, this is really all about you. You narcissists.

Follow the Borgata action here, btw.

Chris "Enchanted Wonderland" Chronis Leads Aussie Millions Into Day 2

We're gonna go out on an ignorant limb and assume Aussie Millions chipleader Christopher Chronis isn't as interested in photos of Vicky Secret model Miranda Kerr as we are.

While the big news in the poker world today is the freeroll we're running this Thursday on Full Tilt Poker for a $3,200 seat to the Borgata Winter Poker Open, the Aussie Millions Main Event is also underway, and after the three day ones, this fruity guy (aka Christopher "Enchanted Wonderland" Chronis) is heading into Day 2 with the biggest stack (175,375).

Behind him, which we're guessing is just where he likes other dudes with big stacks to be, is Ben Charlton, who ended as the Day 1C chipleader with 161,100 in chips.

Day 2 starts up today, or is that tomorrow in Australia, or was that already yesterday. No idea. 320 of the 681 still remain gunning it out for the 2 mil AUD first place prize.

For live reports and chip counts, go here.

For fun clickable photos of Miranda Kerr look below.

Wicked Chops Reader Appreciation Freeroll: Borgata Winter Open Main Event Seat

More details to come in the next few hours, but we are running a Wicked Chops Poker Reader Appreciation Freeroll for a seat into the $3k buy-in Borgata Winter Open Main Event. Hotel room is included. However, you'll need to get there on your own dime.

The freeroll will take place this Thursday night (yeah, in two days) at 9pm EST (6pm PST).

The Main Event has two Day 1's to choose from (this Sunday and Monday).

We know there's not a large amount of lead time for this, but still a great prize and we'll post your action  during the duration of your run.

Again, more details as soon as the room is set up online. Follow the current Borgata Winter Open action here.

RawVegas.tv Turned Two

We don't celebrate our personal birthdays anymore. Partly because we don't care, and partly because we don't care.

However we know shit like that matters to other people, so happy birthday  (if that's what you'd call it) to RawVegas.tv, which launched two years ago yesterday.

Perhaps you've seen our little show THE Toke on it before, or maybe you just go there to see porn stars discuss anal. We like to call that, "A little something for everyone."

Anyway, here's one of our favorites from the past year...

David Steicke Wins Aussie Millions High Rollers Challenge, Main Event Underway

Ashleigh-Sudholz-1 David Steicke, an Aussie ex-pat commodities trader living in Hong Kong, outlasted 22 of the best, or rich enough to cover the buy-in, poker players at the Aussie Millions $100,000 High Rollers Challenge.

Steicke bested top pros like Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, John Juanda, and Patrik Antonius to grab 1.2 mil in kangaroo dollars for the win. Tony Bloom was the runner up ($600,000 AUD) and the spectacularly breasted JC Tran (at right looking a lot like 2008 Australian Swimwear Model of the Year Ashleigh Sudholz) finished third ($300,000 AUD). Dan Shak, Beth's husband, was the final player to cash out ($200,000 AUD) in the 23-player tournament.

A huge fan favorite in Australia for one reason or another, the 46-year-old Steicke first made noise on that side of the world's poker scene in 2007 when he finished third at the 2007 APPT Macau High Roller Event.

With the High Rollers event over, the Aussie Millions Main Event is under way and already on to Day 1C. This fruity guy is currently the chipleader with 175,375 in chips. Patrik Antonius is second with 139,750. The rest of the players remaining have less.

WPT Southern Poker Championship Final Table is Blah

Wpt-logo Pretty sure this is the biggest Friends & FamilyTM final table in WPT history. Let's just get this out of the way, here are the remaining six: Soheil Shamseddin (3,061,000), Allen Carter (1,673,000), Hilbert Shirey (1,353,000), Tyler Smith (1,271,000), Bobby Suer (651,000), Chuck Kim (386,000).

Some might say the bigger story is who didn't make the TV final table. Although that's barely a story either. Just missing out in 7th place is SI Swimsuit "model" Vanessa Rousso, who went to Duke. Thanks to reader Kevmath for sending us the link confirming it is a paid Poker Stars ad/spread (no shocker there).

Another woman, Jena Delk, finished 11th. That wife-beater wearing ginger Justin Smith finished 13th. And Hevad Khan was 14th.

Griselda Sanchez Is The Friday Night Parting Shot Girl

We've said this before but it bears repeating...Argentina produces more hot girls per capita than any other country in the world, and Argentinian model Griselda Sanchez is our latest find. We don't know a damn thing about Sanchez except that she was on some Spanish-language version of Big Brother, probably eats tacos for lunch and is unfortunately adept at covering her grande titas with her hands.

Click away at the thumbnails below. Video after the jump.

A Bunch of Friends and Family Lead WPT Southern Poker Championship But Whatever Vanessa Rousso Talks About the SI Swimsuit Issue

The WPT Southern Poker Championship is in the money with a leaderboard that can best be described as "anti-star-studded." Or would that be unstar-studded? Or would that be dim lightbulb-studded? Anyone?

The friends and family dim lightbulb-studded top five are: Allen Carter (776,000), Tyler Smith (695,000), Stewart Yancik (619,000), Florian Langmann (603,000), Soheil Shamseddin (560,000).

Also still alive (although short-stacked) is Vanessa Rousso, who went to Duke. Although for SEO purposes we may be extending that to "SI Swimsuit Model Vanessa Rousso, who went to Duke." She caught up with Amanda Leatherman and confirms that: 1) she will be in the SI Swimsuit edition for sure, 2) it comes out in late February, 3) she has no idea what the pics look like yet, and 4) she's wearing half of a wetsuit top and bikini bottom in one and a light blue bikini in the other.

So there you have it. Get full chip counts here.

Casey Carlson Photos Make for a Good Post

American Idol has been severely lacking, really, really hot girls in the past, but for some reason this season, to borrow a phrase from Dr. Pauly, has been "off the chain."

Last night this Parting Shot worthy girl, Casey Carlson, came on and we pretty much forgot what happened after that, although that had more to do with the meth than anything else.

Layne Flack And His Big Teeth May Get To Bang This Chick

Megan-HausermanMegan Hauserman is an inspiration to all girls with smoking hot bodies and the IQ of a shoe that you can make it big if you act slutty on a bunch of reality TV shows.

Playboy Cybergirl and reality TV ho Megan Hauserman (Beauty and the Geek, Rock of Love, I Love Money, Charm Schoolis getting her own show on VH1 called Trophy Wife, and being considered as a "contestant" is the painstakingly annoying Layne Flack.

According to our sources at Google, who supplied us with the info when we searched "Who the hell is Megan Hauserman," the show will have Hauserman looking for a man who will "shower her with love and money." The guys competing on the show will each have a net worth of at least $1,000,000. Layne Flack worth a mil? Really? His dealer maybe. Dentist perhaps. But him. Really?

Anyway, Flack shared the news about Trophy Wife with the WPT live reporting crew today at the Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi, where Esther Taylor, a woman, leads the field after Day 1.

Check out live reports from WTP SPC here, including the bit about Flack. Chip counts here.

American Idol Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell Brings You Not Necessarily Just Poker News

She's the one in the middle...

As we've posted before, back in the days of the Wicked Chops Wednesday home games, despite the complaints of every non-Entity there, it's possible that from the hours of 8-10, American Idol played on the TV. So the show will always have a place in the Entities hearts.

These Girls Aren't Exactly Shy

Last week we mentioned that the AVN's were in Las Vegas and the good people at RawVegas.tv would be covering it.

And as predicted (we're really good at that), they came out with a bang-up piece asking all the girls in the adult entertainment industry a bunch of questions you probably always wanted to know. Side note: Lexi Belle seems pretty cool...and Angelina Armani scares us.

BREAKING: Poker News Editor-In-Chief John Caldwell Resigns

John-caldwell After five years of helping build PokerNews.com into the industry standard powerhouse of reporting...poker...news...all-around class-act and FOWCP John Caldwell has resigned.

Caldwell was hugely instrumental in growing the site from a couple of employees to over 200 worldwide people, and built out one of the best tourney reporting crews in the business. Additionally, under Caldwell the site became a SEO monster that is currently translated in numerous languages, because apparently not everyone speaks English.

Seriously? Wtf.

Says Caldwell in a statement on poker news reporting site PokerNews.com:

"I just felt it was time...I'm looking to change focus, and now felt right. It was, quite simply, time to go. I'm really proud of what we accomplished at PokerNews. In a matter of a little over three years, we went from three guys in a tiny room to one of the largest poker sites on the web. PokerNews will always be a chapter in the book of my life that I am proud of. I have really enjoyed working with PokerNews. I'll continue to contribute as a consultant on an ad hoc basis. I wish Tony, Damon, and everyone at PokerNews continued success"

So yeah, unfortunately no salacious details people. Read more here.

Poker News Link Dump Brought to You By Kim Cloutier

We unfairly rip on America's cap. We actually love Canada. Good people up there. One thing Canadians also don't get enough credit for is being a land filled with hot girls. Heck, we've been to Edmonton and even there the ratio of hot to not-hot girls was off-the-charts. So in honor of PCA Caribbean Adventure winner (and Canadian) Poorya Nazari, we bring you Kim Cloutier. Easily one of Canada's finest. View more here.

:: As noted above, Poorya Nazari wins PCA Main Event, banking three million f'in dollars. Obviously he doesn't train with Mats Sundin. But perhaps now he should consider changing his name from "Poorya" now to "Richya." Eh? Eh? Yeah that was horrible. But you fucking laughed and you know it. [link]

:: In other tournament news, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott wins the Irish Poker Championship, banking €33,000. Good to see Devilfish winning something, since he's voteless in the "Best Poker Song" debate. [link]

:: Tiltware files motion to dismiss Clonie Gowen lawsuit. [link]

:: The Best Damn Poker Show Season 2 (aka The Giant UB Ad Buy) begins today. [link

:: Speaking of UB, Annie Duke writes about getting back in poker after six months off (if you missed her, you'll see plenty of her when the Celebrity Apprentice kicks off March 1). And Annie, the dinner bet is still on. [link]

We Hope Mats Sundin Sits at Our Table

All right, Poker Stars. If you're gonna do these athlete celeb sponsors, let's lay down a couple rules: 1) no gingers (ah-hem), and 2) at least kind of sort of educate them on some poker basics.

Now we all know Canadians basic passions in life go something in order like ice fishing-->curling-->socialism-->Bare Naked Ladies-->hockey. So the entire nation of Canada then probably saw Mats Sundin on Hockey Night in Canada After Hours not able to answer a basic poker question from special call-in guest, Daniel Negreanu.

Go to about 2:30 in the vid. Guess Mats needs to spend more time on PokerVT.

Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier Wins PCA High Rollers

Elky_joker Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier is running good.

With a WPT and EPT title (last year's PCA Main Event) under his belt the past year (plus a creepy as fuck Joker costume), ElkY has now added the PCA $25k High Rollers championship and $433,500 to his resume. This victory boosts EklY's career live tourney earnings to $4,681,839.

The High Rollers field included 48 top pros and high stakes specialists. The final table included this insufferably annoying Humberto Brenes (5th, $70,800), Edwin James Olmos Eli Elezra (6th, $68,500), Daniel Alaei (7th, $57,000), and Nick Schulman (8th, $45,700).

ElkY defeated not noted top pro or high stakes specialist Will Molson ($228,000) for the title.

MMA Ring Girl Wannabes Seem Like A Lotta Fun

The AVNs are in Las Vegas this week and we're sure the good people at RawVegas.tv will have plenty to post on it in the near future, but until they do, this MMA Ring Girl Search Contest that just took place will have to suffice.

We don't know much about rear-naked chokes or flying scissor heel hooks other than they sound like something you'd do right before delivering a dirty sanchez, but we do know that MMA ring girls in general are smoking hot (Exhibit A: here) so hey, we're glad these girls have chosen a career path we can all be proud of (parenthesis only so we don't end that sentence in a preposition...take THAT Mrs. Farmer).

Doyle Brunson Makes Bucket List

While we could probably name fiftytrilliongazillion poker players whose lifestyles would make them a more likely candidate to croak in '09, Blend Celebrity has just published their annual 100 Most Likely to Die List, and clocking in at number 16 is Doyle Brunson.

Says the site:

Cause: Obesity
Reason: Still nearly as sharp as when he won back to back World Series Of Poker Main Event titles, Doyle’s weight has been quite an issue for awhile. The legend once lost a hundred pounds in a year to win a million dollar bet, but Texas Dolly’s seventy-five year old frame won’t be able to support him forever.
Chance We’ll See An Obituary: 10%

We predicted that the 2009 WSOP would definitely be Doyle's last, but damn, 1-10 shot at making it to 2010?

Topping the list was Andy Rooney and Tom Sizemore. Works for us. View the entire list here.
