Justin Bonomo Wins WSOP-C Caesar's Main Event

We stopped following WSOP-Cevents about the same time all of you did (2006ish), but occasionally a stellar final table pops up that is worth reporting on. Like this one.

Justin Bonomodefeated a field of 187 to capture his first WSOP-C title, banking $227,692. He defeated Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi heads-up. And finishing third was Men "The Master" Nguyen, who we didn't even was still playing anything other than $500 seven card stud tourneys that for some reason still count to him getting Card Player Player of the Year Points.

And since that's all we got, some pictures of the South African hottie Gerda-Marie Mare.

Matt "Allinat420" Stout Does Not Win WSOP-C Tunica

Wsop-circuit Ok, so maybe it wasn't inevitable.

Despite dominating play throughout the tournament and having more than 2x the chips of his nearest competitor at the WSOP-C Tunica final table, Matt "Allinat420" Stout did not walk away with the title.

The win instead went to Kai Landry of Biloxi, Mississippi. Kai banks $183,974 for his first major cashing plus an entry into the 2009 WSOP Main Event.

David Dao finished second, and the aforementioned Stout burned out in third.

Matt "Allinat420" Stout Leads WSOP-C Tunica Final Table

Wsop-circuit Most of the notables you'd care about just missed out on the WSOP-C Tunica final table.

Kathy Liebert, a woman, and "Captain POB" Tom Franklin went out early on Day 2. Gavin Smith was out late, finishing tenth and just missing the non-TV-final-table.

Matt "Allinat420" Stout takes the chip lead to final table play, stacked at 1,005,500. He's followed by Jeremy Byrum with 404,500.

Listen, we don't like to prematurely do anything, but we're just going to go ahead and anoint Matt Stout the winner for this one. He's on fire lately and it just seems like his time. Even if "it's his time" means "just winning a WSOP-C title." That's like finding out you inherited a soda company, except it ends up being RC Cola instead of Coke or Pepsi. Sure, you're excited, you own a soda company and all, but it's kind of "meh" too. You'd pull mad tail if you owned Coke. RC, you're probably still paying for sex.

Gavin Smith, Captain POB Among WSOP-C Tunica Day 1 Survivors

Gavin-smith

Stating the obvious (again) here, but these WSOP Circuit events aren't what they used to be.

Back when the WSOP-C's began, ESPN cameras followed. Top pros played in them. Winning one had at least a little bit of prestige.

Now, not so much.

The first WSOP-C stop of 2009 kicked off yesterday at Harrah's Tunica. $5k entry, 154 entrants.

Like the movie The Fast and the Furious, play was fast and furiousTM (man we haven't used that one in a long time...feels good), as only 27 remained by the end of Day 1. David Dao will enter Day 2 as the chip leader, stacked at 291,700. Online pro Matt 'Allinat420' Stout is second with 255,500.

Other notables remaining include Gavin Smith, "Captain POB" Tom Franklin, Jordan Morgan, and Kathy Liebert, a woman.

Samuel "Gramps" Oberlin Wins WSOP Circuit Event - Horseshoe Southern Indiana

Large_obamacb7_web03302008_20179

Is that SNL's Fred Armisen playing Barack Obama above or Barack Obama playing Fred Armisen?

Let's make this short and sweet because the chances of you actually caring who won the WSOP Circuit Event at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana are about the same as the MSM declaring John McCain the winner of tonight's presidential debate. Barack "Bam" Obama could smoke up meth at the table in front of Bob Schieffer while answering every question with "Uh, I, um have a plan Bob, and that plan is change, and um that's what the voters, um want to hear," and Tom Brokaw, Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric would all be like, "Obama really hit a home run tonight showing Americans that he's in touch with their financial woes and the high cost of health care by getting bombed out of his mind on cheap over-the-counter drugs."

What was this post about again? Oh yeh, 22-year-old Samuel Oberlin, whose friends call him "Gramps" because they're clever like that, won the WSOP Circuit Event at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana. He takes home $143,064. A bunch of other "friends and family" guys were also at the final table.
